Shirts and Tops

There's a lot of variety here, from random weird looking tops through T-shirt sort of things, right up to essentially normal collared shirts.

<-- Kimono-y jacket, 2010ish
I was experimenting with T-tunic shapes and this super simple jacket. It has since been turned into a fitted 18th century jacket.

Red and Black long shirt, 2007ish -->
in the style of my colorblock and tiered skirts and dresses.

<-- Inkblot shirt, 2007ish
slightly sparkly "Inkblot" applique, on a tiered-style base. Also there's some kind of pink thing over on my hip, not sure what the story is there.

Tie-tops, 2012-13
yeah, the first one was supposed to be a swim top, and then it got out of hand from there. I forget which one was the actual first one, but they're all equally unsuited for swimming in, so...
(Fun fact, in the picture of the beige top, the "face recongnizer" in iphoto thought that little piece of stomach was a face.)

<-- Fuzzy Stretchy Asymmetrical Top, 2010ish
It's basically a fuzzy t-shirt

Purple satin tank top, 2010ish -->
Super simple, back and front almost identical, and the shoulders are a smidge too big for me.

<-- Jailhouse bodice, 2008ish
I really wanted to be the sort of person who wore bodices with my skirts, but at this point I had not yet figured out how bodices work

Purple zip bodice, 2008ish -->
Originally this was part of a whole purple outfit with this purple blouse and two matching petticoats, but the bodice was really too tight to go over the blouse. It was meant to be a "saloon girl" kind of situation, for Halloween. I think I wore the bodice in regular life a few times after that.

Blue "Shirtwaist", 2010
This was a project for APUSH, junior year of high school. The idea was, I'd shut myself in a room and make a shirtwaist the old fashioned way like the girls at Triangle Shirtwaist Co. The pattern i drafted after some internet directions was not great to begin with, and when it was all made up, it was literally so short? Like barely waist length. But the sleeves were overlong, while also being a bit too tight. Clearly the numbers were all wrong. It was a disaster. It looks ok, ish, but it served its purpose which was not having to make a powerpoint for that stupid project
