Kingdom Hearts was the first thing I cosplayed from. If you are interested in seeing photoshoot pictures for these costumes, try looking at my (now inactive) DeviantArt.

"Lolita" version Sora, 2008
My first cosplay ever! It's a design I made myself, because in those days I didn't know how to make pants, though in all honesty Sora's pants still stump me now. I legitimately no longer have pictures of this character on my computer, it's that old.
A dress with full skirt and puff sleeves over a petticoat, a zip up vest over the top. Meant to be worn while flat-chested. Spiked wig - pretty good given that it was the first wig I had ever styled!
I'm still pretty proud of this one - it's pretty well made and the design is polished and recognizable as the character. It isn't actually lolita, by any definition of the sub-style more specific than "idk short skirt puffy sleeves", but the design is very true to that style of short-skirted cutie looks that often has that label mistakenly applied to it (it was a really big thing in 2008).

Sora Kid Version, 2009
Based on the child version of Sora from one of the Kingdom Hearts games, with some modifications to suit the materials I had on hand. Entirely a costume of altered store-bought clothing. Yes, those are swim trunks. This cosplay is about when I started feeling self-conscious about my height in the context of characters. I still do, but, well, you can wear heels to get taller but there are no shoes to make you shorter.

Zexion, 2011
This cosplay is really just the wig. I felt a certain kinship with the character at the time I made the costume, but I was so affected by self-consciousness about my height that I never wore it to con or even made an accurate outfit. I wore it with black clothing from my normal wardrobe.
The wig was kind of unsatisfactory in the end. My base wig was wavy, and I didn't get all of the wave out before spiking, so I had to use a lot more hairspray than looks ok. the bangs are very stiff and pokey, and don't have any natural movement. I do love the color though (although it's more... neon... than the in-game color on the character) so I may wash out the style some day and use the wig for mundane costumes and fun.
